Why is it that we never learn? At the beggining of something we always think "Damn, we've got all the time in the world" and towards the end its always "It just...flew by." We due this, yet we do it again, and agian, and again, we don't relize that one day, the person you love is standing next to you, talking about some completely random thing, can be thier today, then be gone, no reason, no warning, just gone. we take things for granted, I know I do.

So why do we do it? Why do we never learn to except that nothing is for ever? To save ourselves. That's the only reasonable answer. We save ourselves from the inevideble pain, by not acknowledging it till it comes. This time of year you hear it every where you turn. Freshman "Wow, our first year is over. We won't see eachother for three months. Its gone by to fast." Sophmore "Holy Crap we're juniors next year! It's awsome, but I can't believe the years already over. Wow." Juniors "God. I have to get a job to pay for gas over the summer, school was the only place I got to see everyone. It went by to fast." Seniors "Its...Over. Lets be honest, I'll probably never see anyone here ever again.  It went by quicker than I thought. I'll miss them." It's the same story for everyone.

And what about family? And what about when people, entire people, Leave. When thier time is up, you get no warning, they get taken away. Age, diesease, police, murder. These all take people away from us, but we don't dwell on it, try not to think about it, till it happens. If we did it other wise, we'd hurt, feel paranoia, go mad, that's why we don't. Still, it somewhat doesn't make sense.

Deep down, maybe we truley do expect the worst, maybe our sub-concious always runs it over, so it isn't directly there,but maybe you won't be in total shock. No, that's a lie, it'll always leave you in shock, somehow, you will always feel shock when you lose something, someone, whos close to you.

So what will you do when you lose them? Will you think, "Oh, I expected it. It's fine." or will it be "It wen't by to fast. It'll never be the same." Your human, well some of us are, either way, I think you'll always go to the second, we will always take things for granted, untill the threat of loseing it comes along, then you'll never take them for granted ever again, and if you do, I pity you.
